Tracing Roots Exhibition

12 October - 28 November 2009

The Point's latest exhibition focuses on the role and importance of the family and celebrates the creativity that springs from adults and children working together to produce art.

Based around the theme of ‘family trees’ – their roots and branches and the forest that can flourish when they are nurtured through visual arts – the exhibition is part of the nationwide Family Learning Festival and aims to bring families together in an informal setting to enable them to learn and have fun together.

The centrepiece of the exhibition is three giant tree silhouettes on the wall, but we hope these will flourish as they are adorned by hanging objects created by families visiting the gallery.

Also at the exhibition are 'Thanks to my Family...' luggage labels dedicated to special relatives and gilt photo frames sprayed on the walls display participants' family portraits.

Why don't you bring your family to the exhibition and make your mark...
